Van der Schoot leaves ASR Nederland October 1st

Summary

​Mr. J. (Johan) van der Schoot, Director of External Communications, Public Affairs & Intermediary affairs leaves ASR Nederland October 1st. D. (Dennis) Koot will be appointed manager Public Affairs as of 1 July.

​Van der Schoot about his decision: "I have worked well over 16 years for ASR and its predecessors, a beautiful and exciting period. But lately I had more often a sense of recognition. Finally I came to a conclusion. I still experience my working field as a great challenge and have extensive amount of ambition, ideas and energy. I feel the need for more challenges and space than the familiar ASR Nederland offers me. With much deliberation, I therefore decided to leave ASR. I am still considering my next challenge."

CEO Jos Baeten : "We regret that Johan made this choice. At the same time, we understand his decision. We are grateful for the valuable contribution he made to our company and industry. And personally, I also look back with great pleasure on working with Johan".

Van der Schoot has been employed since February 1st 1995, at AMEV, Fortis, Stad Rotterdam and ASR Nederland in various functions, mainly in strategy, communications, Public Affairs and commerce. Representing ASR Nederland he is very active in various areas in the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars) such as intermediary distribution, consumer policy and reputation and is part of several delegation consultations with stakeholders.

Appointment Dennis Koot

Dennis Koot (40) will be manager Public Affairs and member of MT Corporate Communication as of 1 July. He studied general Economy at the University of Groningen and has previously worked as public affairs advisor at NBA, the association of accountants. Before that he worked at Asset Manager Veer Palthe Voute and was policy advisor at the Dutch Association of Banks (Nederland Vereniging van Banken) among others. He is also an active board member in the Dutch Association for Public Affairs (BVPA).
