Annual+Report

Jos Baeten, CEO: ‘In many ways, 2017 has been a successful year for a.s.r. We have achieved these good results through the efforts of our employees, which makes me proud. In our Annual Report, we have given an extensive explanation on our financial and non-financial result. In this good financial year, we have exceeded all of our mid-term targets. With the reporting this year, we have taken another step towards achieving an integrated Annual Report, which describes how a.s.r. creates value for its stakeholders and also underpins that a.s.r. is a sustainable insurer, investor and employer.’

Contribution to SDGs
The Annual Report has been prepared on the basis of the Sustainability Reporting Standards, the CORE option of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the framework of the IIRC. a.s.r. contributes to the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) in its value creation process. a.s.r.’s greatest impact is on SDG8 (Decent work and economic growth). In this context, a.s.r. distinguishes four roles, i.e. as an insurer, as an employer, as an investor and as a socially responsible company. In addition, a.s.r. contributes to other SDGs. The SDGs are explained in more detail in the Annual Report.

SFCR
The SFCR has similarities with the Annual Report, but also provides more insight into solvency, based on the Solvency II guidelines.
