a.s.r. publishes annual report and SFCR 2016
Today, a.s.r. publishes its annual report 2016 and the SFCR 2016 (solvency and financial condition report). The annual report provides an integrated review of the company’s performance, consisting of the management report and the financial report. The annual report follows the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards. Following the EU regulation on solvency, a.s.r. publishes for the first time the SFCR.
Jos Baeten, Chief Executive Officer: ‘a.s.r. is in a sound position. This is reflected in both the annual report as in the solvency and financial condition report. The SFCR somewhat overlaps with the annual report and provides more insight in our solvency position, based on the Solvency II regulations.’
Annual report and SFCR
The annual report consists of the management report and the financial report. The management report covers a.s.r.’s strategy, its financial and sustainability objectives and its achievements and shows how a.s.r. creates value for all its stakeholders. The financial report provides an overview of the financial position of a.s.r. based on the IFRS accounting principles.
The annual report has been prepared in accordance with the Sustainability Reporting Standards, CORE option, of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). All relevant sustainability topics were selected based on a materiality survey among internal and external stakeholders using the GRI Standards Indicators in which the ranking is in line with the importance that stakeholders attach to them. The Sustainability Information is reviewed by an independent auditor and the review is performed in accordance with Dutch law, including Dutch Standard 3810N ‘Assurance engagements relating to sustainability reports.’
a.s.r. has scheduled its Annual General Meeting of shareholders (AGM) on 31 May 2017.
