ASR Nederland lets Rotterdam Weena location to Shell

Summary

This morning ASR Nederland and Shell, in the presence of mayor Aboutaleb and councilman Karakus (Residence and Spatial Planning), signed the rental agreement for ASR Nederlands' building at the Weena in Rotterdam. This fits with ASR Nederlands' plans to centralize its offices in the Utrecht region.

Office centralization

Last year ASR Nederland announced it will centralize its offices in phases, but no later than 2015. The various parts of the ASR Nederland company are currently placed in 13 locations in theNetherlands. Activities will - with the exception of those by Ardanta in Enschede and those by Europeesche Verzekeringen in Amsterdam - be concentrated in a to be determined location in the Utrecht region.

For the Rotterdam location the moving date was set for, at the latest, 31 December 2012.
Because ASR Nederland could let the building to Shell via its real estate business ASR Vastgoed Vermogensbeheer, the moving plans for the various parts of the company have been accelerated.

For the Rotterdam employees concerned, this means that per 1 December 2010 they will move to Utrecht, or temporarily occupy another location in the centre of Rotterdam. On 1 December 2011 the building, after a complete renovation, will be turned over to Shell.
